Hello, my Name is...
My name is Micaelyn, and I’m a recent college graduate, a newly married woman, a writer, a creator, and most importantly, I love Jesus. I love adventuring, and life itself seems to be the greatest adventure of all.
I’m an advocate for experience-based learning, and I enjoy sharing my experiences with others. Whether it be new recipes, book and movie recommendations, homemaking hacks, or thoughts on faith, I love connecting with others and doing life together. Interested in growing alongside me? I can’t wait to do life with you!
My Passions
Faith:
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16, ESV) My faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ is essential to my whole identity. Through the highest mountains and the lowest valleys and every mundane moment in between, Jesus has carried me through.
Community:
When I say I'm passionate about community, I mean it in a deeper sense than you might think. I'm really passionate about building healthy communities through the model of the Kingdom of God as displayed by Jesus Christ. Christ-centered communities have an upside-down social order, where citizens are each for the other. I desire to see believers around the world striving to build up the Kingdom of God on earth by sacrificing their time, money, and lives for one another--and it starts with you and me.
Theology:
Don't get me wrong--I've never been to seminary, and I still have a lot to learn. However, I really enjoy learning new things about theology, about the doctrines of each denomination, about Church history, and about biblical culture and language. Though I don't believe an understanding of theology alone is enough to grow our faith, I do believe that it is vital in helping us better understand our faith.
Language and Writing:
Since I was a young girl, I've had a passion for words. Think about it. How did God create? He created through His Word. It was the Word Who became flesh and spoke words of life, hope, and truth into the broken hearts of those living in a fallen world. It is often by our words that we raise up songs of praise to our Heavenly Father. Words capture our innermost thoughts and feelings and allow them to be shared with others. I hope my words here at Echoing Glory will be edifying for you.
